Horse Health at the Gaylord Equestrian Center
The Gaylord Equestrian Center is visited regularly by both Veterinarians and Farriers. The owner is responsible for scheduling a visit by their own personal veterinarian or farrier, or by informing the Owner/Manager of the need for veterinary or hoof care. It is the responsibility of the owner to pay all veterinarian and farrier fees. If the owner is unable to make the scheduled appointment, a $5.00 handling fee will be added to your board.
Worming is a necessity for maintaining the health of your horse and is performed every 3 months. Worming paste or pellets can be obtained through and administered by the Gaylord Equestrian Center for an additional fee of $10.00 per horse or you may supply and administer your own.
Vaccinations are MANDATORY and performed yearly. These can also be obtained through the Gaylord Equestrian Center or you may use your own personal veterinarian. West Nile Virus vaccinations can only be administered by a DVM. Dental and chiropractic services can also be obtained by contacting the Gaylord Equestrian Center.
To ensure the health of all horses at the Gaylord Equestrian Center, Coggins testing is also mandatory and must be performed annually by a DVM.
